Student Organ Donation Advocates (SODA) believes students can help reduce the critical organ shortage through on-campus advocacy. They support students who are passionate about organ donation as they start and then lead a SODA chapter on their campus. ACTION is the Advanced Cardiac Therapies Improving Outcomes Network. They unite providers and families, share data and outcomes transparently, improve education and standardize best practices in an effort to drive improvement in areas that are often untouched by clinical trials alone. The ACTION learning network's current focus is on improving outcomes for pediatric ventricular assist device (VAD) patients.

Basically, this organization helps improve pediatric and ACHD heart failure outcomes, which includes aiding those on the heart transplant waiting list. I LOVE their mission and what they do, and will be helping out with some of their projects in the coming months. If you’d like more information on how to help, click here.

I recently found out about Help Hope Live, a support community-based organization fundraising for people with unmet medical and related expenses due to cell and organ transplants or catastrophic injuries and illnesses.

If you are a transplant patient or the caregiver of a transplant patient, please utilize their resources. You can also help the nonprofit organization in various ways (campaigns, events, fundraisers). Click here for more information.
